Business License Division

The Business Licenses division is responsible for the issuance of all licenses, special permits, yard sale permits, contractors, consultants, and home occupation licenses.

The Business License Division works in conjunction with other departments such as the Fire department, planning, building, code enforcement and the Sheriff’s Department to ensure compliance with the City and State requirements. This division is also responsible for issuance of permits for special events such as carnivals, rummage sales, yard sales, firework stands, Christmas tree sales and the annual Christmas Parade vendor permits. Systematic surveys and audits of current business license establishments are also conducted by the City's Business License Specialists.

Why do I need a Business License?
- Any individual, corporation or sole proprietor who wishes to conduct business within the City of Lynwood must obtain a business license. City law states that no person shall engage in business or transact and carry on a business, trade, profession, calling or occupation in the city without first having procured a license from the city to do so or without complying with any and all applicable provisions of Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code of the City of Lynwood.

What Occupations require a Business License?
- Business license fees vary depending on the type of business that you are conducting. Below is an example of businesses that are required to obtain a license:
• Delivery Trucks • Dry Cleaning • Laundry Cleaning/Delivery • Towels&Linen Supplies
• Gardening and Maintenance • Janitorial Services • Repair Services • Vending Machines

- Mail completed application forms and $30 filing fee to the City of Lynwood, Business License Division, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood CA 90262.

- Once your application forms and filing fee are received and approved, we will mail you an invoice of your Business License Fee. Once we receive your payment, we will then issue a license.

Where can I get the forms?
- You can download the form from the City’s website at www.lynwood.ca.us. You can also call us and we will mail, fax or email you the forms. Forms are also available at our office.
