The Senior Citizen Division is under the administration of the Lynwood Recreation&Community Services Department. The Lynwood Senior Citizen Center is located at 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.General information/Referrals

activities and social services that are designed especially for adults 55 years

Senior Advisory Council
This Board is comprised of concerned senior citizens. The purpose is to make recommendations and advise the Recreation and Community Services Department on various issues concerning Lynwood's senior population. All seniors are welcomed and encouraged to attend the meetings. The meeting is held at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center located at 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262 on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. No charge. Bus Pass Information
The Metropolitan Transit Authority is aiding our senior citizens ages sixty-two (62) and older by providing them with free bus passes. Call the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center at (310) 886-0425 for further information, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No charge.
Dial-A-Taxi
The City of Lynwood provides transportation for senior citizens 55-years and older and to disabled residents. The cost is $1.50 per book of 6 coupons. Coupons are sold on the first working day of the month from 9 a.m. until sold-out. To obtain an I.D. card for Dial-A-Taxi, stop by the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center, 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262.
Excursions
The Senior Citizen Division has planned monthly field trips to exciting and delightful places. These trips are planned especially with the needs of Senior Citizens in mind. Stop by the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center to register for any excursion. Registration deadlines and cost will vary for each trip. Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
Supplemental free food give-away every fourth Thursday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center, 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262. Must be pre-registered for this activity.
Movies
Free first-run movies on DVD are shown every Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center located at 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262.
Nutrition
Senior Meals Program - Nutritious hot meals served daily for all seniors 60 years and older. Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center located at 11329 Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood, CA 90262. Suggested donation is $1.75. This program is supervised by Human Services Association. Meals must be reserved one day in advance. For reservations please call (310) 886-0416. The meals program is closed on major holidays.
