Department Overview
The Recreation & Community Services Department is responsible for providing Lynwood and surrounding communities with many diverse; recreation, aquatic, sports, youth camps, classes, excursions and related programs. The Department is instrumental in conducting citywide special events and activities and services for the mature adult population, along with local transportation services. The Department also manages and operates the City's public community centers, aquatic facility, rental facilities and public parks.
Mission Statement:
The Recreation & Community Services Department uses a T.E.A.M.* approach, along with enthusiasm, dedication and creativity to provide accessibility to high quality, low-cost programs as well as well-maintained accessible facilities designed to enhance the quality of life for those who live and work in the City. *(TOGETHERNESS, ENTERTAINMENT, ATHLETICS, MOTIVATION)
