Does the City of Lynwood have a volunteer program?
- The City of Lynwood has an active and thriving volunteer program.  Whether you are a senior citizen looking to give back to the community, or a student needing to fulfill community service hours, the City of Lynwood has opportunities for you.  All volunteers must pass a basic background check and fingerprinting process.  Please contact the Human Resources Department at 310-603-0220 ext 531 or ext 221for more information.

How do I apply for a City job opening?

- Job applications are available on this website or at City Hall.  Please note that the City accepts job applications for currently open recruitments only.  Be sure to submit your application by the final filing deadline.  Application materials are reviewed for relevant education, training and experience.  Those applicants’ best meeting the City’s needs will be invited to participate in a selection process which may include a written exam, performance exam, oral board interview and/or other selection process.  Depending upon the applicant pool, all applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will not necessarily be selected to participate in the hiring process. Prior to submitting a completed job application, be sure to read the respective recruitment notice for further instructions.  Some recruitment’s may require additional information such as a designated supplemental questionnaire.

Does the City accept application or interest cards for positions that are not currently open?

- No.  The City does not accept interest cards or “hold” applications.  Interested parties must apply for open positions during the application period.

What if I have a police record.  Can I still apply for a job at the City of Lynwood?
- Yes.  However, your police record will be considered with respect to the duties and responsibilities of the position for which you are applying, your age at the time of the conviction, the severity of the crime, and your employment history in the interim.  You may or may not be disqualified.
