Landscaping and Arbor Services

The Landscaping&Arbor Services Division is responsible for the maintenance of all City parks, medians, city owned trees, as well as City facility landscaping. The division maintains approximately 9,500 trees throughout the City. The City?s trees are maintained on a regular schedule through the services of a private contractor. All pruning performed on City tree?s meet International Society Arboriculture standards.

Why do we need trees?

Trees not only beautify the community, but they also shade us from the sun and provide clean air for the environment.

Why won't the City top my tree?

Topping trees can cause weak limbs, may harm property value, and may also cause  disease at the opening of the limbs.

The tree in front of my property is dropping too many leaves, will the City remove it?

No. The city will only remove trees if they are diseased, dying, dead, or if they pose a threat to public health or safety.

Can I trim the tree that is on the parkway?

No. It is the City's responsibility to trim all trees within the City of Lynwood. If you would like your tree trimmed please call the Service Request Division at 310.603.0220 ext. 207.

Will the City trim the trees that are on my private property?

No. It is the responsibility of the property owner to hire a professional contractor to trim trees on private property.
