John D. Ham Park Replacement Project
In 2004, Lynwood began the process of replacing Ham Park. The Lynwood Unified School District acquired Ham Park in 2003 to begin constrution of a new state of the art high school that will service 1,800 students.

After receiving funding approval in the amounts of $35.9 million from the California State Allocation Board, the City undertook the Ham Park Replacement Project to construct a new 10-acre park with modern amenities, and situated in close proximity to the previous location.

The boundaries for the proposed new park are:

(1)The east side of Atlantic Avenue from the I-105 Freeway to mid-block between Lavinia Avenue and Clark Stree; and from Atlantic Avenue frontage toVirginia Avenue.

(2)The west side of the park will be bounded by Atlantic Avenue between Agnes Street and Lavinia Avenue and from Atlantic Avenue frontage to the alley.
